Artist Spotlight: Zinovy Shersher

We are thrilled to onboard the legendary, award-winning painter, entertainer and composer, Zinovy Shersher as a featured Blind Boxes creator. He is the first fine artist to amalgamate the creative disciplines of music and art, and his works have been prized by global celebrities such as Cher and Elizabeth Taylor.

His distinctive style and unique flair won him a cult-like underground following among the higher echelons of the Soviet art and music scene but his strong stance on Judaism rankled the authorities, which led him to creating a life in the United States.

Zinovy’s unbridled passion for his craft saw him flourishing in America, where he collaborated with contemporary artists and galleries. Among his many noted works is a 2000 square foot mural titled ‘We Have a Future’ which won him numerous awards as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles. He was also commissioned for a painting with the portraits of the first Oscar winners for the 65th anniversary of the Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

Apart from owning a stake in galleries such as Dyansen and Sherberg in Los Angeles, Zinovy was represented by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art R&S Gallery and the Hollywood Entertainment Museum.

A fine composer in his own right, Zinovy has produced albums in native Russian as well as English, and scored the music for the movie “The Hunt for Red October” starring Sean Connery as well as the film “Lucky Numbers” starring John Travolta and Lisa Kudrow.

Hundreds of articles and interviews on radio and television have been dedicated to Zinovy Shersher. His biography has been featured in acclaimed publications such as “Encyclopedia of Living Artists in America”, “Who’s Who in Art” and “Who’s Who in the West”

Zinovy is now settled in Las Vegas.
