Blind Boxes Marketplace Beta Launch: Update

Onboarding creators and collections to the Blind Boxes dApp continues. We have encountered learning curves, as artists set up Metamask, add Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Mainnet to their wallets, and mint BEP-721 tokens. Since our creators are from a diverse set of countries, obtaining the $BNB needed to power the minting transactions has not always been straightforward. To streamline this process, the team has been working continuously — conducting one-on-one meetings with creators, facilitating the minting and collection-building processes, while also fielding questions from the community.

To further facilitate minting in the BEP-721 standard, on Saturday the team met with the head of Bakeryswap, a BSC exchange and marketplace for NFTs. During this meeting, we laid the foundation for establishing a more streamlined approach for Blind Boxes users to mint their assets. We look forward to increasing the adoption of BSC in the NFT arena.

While this high-touch, 1:1 approach has provided invaluable insights into the needs of mainstream users, it is not scalable. Blind Boxes aims to be a self-service, fully decentralized platform for creators to monetize their work and reach engaged global audiences. Therefore we have already started to post quick reference guides: https://bit.ly/3ajuY1d to make this onboarding process more fluid. For example, a slick explainer video is already being designed by the stellar design team at Motion Mator.

In tandem with this onboarding, creators are providing tons of user feedback, So far, major bugs have not yet been detected. There has been ample UX and UI feedback which is being logged and sent to the development team.

Up Next:

On April 18 we will begin onboarding an initial cohort of pre-registered collectors to the platform. The timing of this will coincide with the wrapping up of creator onboarding. Expect this to start Sunday evening (US time zones). The platform is in the Beta phase, so we will offer a Bug Bounty program to engage our community to provide constructive feedback.
