Blind Boxes Mainnet Beta Launch: What you need to know

Blind Boxes Mainnet Beta Launch: Update

We are thrilled to have started rolling out the mainnet beta launch of Blind Boxes Marketplace. As stated in a previous post we are taking a community-driven, calibrated launch approach to ensure a smooth onboarding process for our creators and curators. Our goal is to be self-service for curators. As such, gathering process feedback at this point will guide our strategy immensely as we strive to develop a platform that is intuitive, scalable, and fun to use.

Timing

Our community is highly engaged and actively vocal. We hear your feedback that transparency is key. Moving forward we will post daily launch updates via Medium and Twitter. The creator-curator onboarding phase (phase I) began April 15 and will last 1–3 days. An initial cohort of creators from our roster was pre-selected to be beta users. These creator-curators have been minting assets on BSC, creating collections on the Blind Boxes dApp, adding their NFTs to their collection, and inviting other creators to join their collections.

Our collections must be robust and full before we onboard collectors. Hence the reason we are not opening the floodgates of collectors just yet. Our curators and artists have varying familiarity with blockchain and are located all across the globe. Members of our team are collecting feedback (live, via Zoom), so this process takes longer now than it will in the future. As soon as this phase is complete, phase II will begin.

NFTs on Binance Smart Chain (BSC)

As outlined in our roadmap, we have first launched on BSC. The rationale is simple: compared to Ethereum, BSC’s lower gas fees and faster transactions make it an attractive option for our creators. Creating an NFT in the BEP-20 standard has many benefits, including zero requirements for the approval process and the ability for transactions to be completed in minutes. We do realize the dominance of Ethereum in the (current) NFT ecosystem. Blind Boxes will be integrating the Ethereum protocol within the next week when we will start accepting ERC-721 NFT tokens

Minting Promo: BLES for Binance Smart Chain Minting

From April 16 — April 20, Blind Boxes will help cover fees for minting NFTs on BSC. Artists that mint their work using Bakerywap, will be rewarded $BLES. This is our way of officially welcoming you to the Blind Boxes community. There are numerous benefits to HODLing $BLES so we encourage creators to delve into the BLES token metrics here.

BakerySwap

We are working with Bakeryswap to allow our creators to seamlessly mint BEP-721 tokens. Minting costs less than $5 per NFT. Compare this to minting on Ethereum’s ERC-721 standard, which is typically five times the cost. The benefit for users in the Marketplace is that you can still sell these NFTs for the same price as you would sell an Ethereum-based NFT.

TrustWallet’s How to Mint NFTs on BakerySwap tutorial is an excellent guide to teach you how to use the dApp. To use BakerySwap, users must first fund their wallet with BNB.
